Post Internship Evaluation
The last few months have been incredibly fulfilling and I have absolutely no regrets for taking this internship.I couldn't have asked for better coworkers and mentors and have been so blessed for everyone to be so welcoming to me and treat me like a valued employee in the organization. I learn a lot about human resources and recruiting and am happy to have had the experience as I loved the human resources management but didn't enjoy the recruiting part as much. The relationships I've made over the last few months of interning are definitely some that I see lasting beyond the internship, they've been very clear about their door always being open to me for anything I need. I feel that it can be hard finding great mentors when you're starting out in a career so having these people in my life is incredible. I learnt a lot about being professional in the workplace including everything from how to dress business professional, learning the boundaries between being close with coworkers but not overstepping or oversharing. I'm lucky to have not experienced any issues or serious conflicts myself however I've been on the side lines and learnt from others in the office. I also really enjoyed having experience in what a 9-5 office job is like, my only other work experience has been in serving in which the hours are very different, getting up early and driving in rush hour was difficult at first however coming home at the end of a very fulfilling day made me feel very grown up and mature. I’ve learnt how to write professionally and think for myself when given more responsibility. Recruiting has definitely helped me with the interviewing process and to see exactly what employers are looking for in terms of resumes and drive. Over all I would definitely recommend students looking for an internship to apply at this organization as I have no doubts that they will love it just as much as I have.
